Azia is a New York State Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who has been in the mental health field for over seven years. She earned her bachelor’s degree in criminal justice and psychology from the University of Hartford and master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy at LIU Brooklyn. Azia utilizes a psychodynamic and person-centered approach, which positions individuals as the experts on where they are now, where they want to go, and how to reach their desired goals. She successfully equips people from all walks of life with tools to tackle issues such trauma, mood disorders, life transitions, and relational issues. Azia also provides individuals, families, and couples with skills to communicate healthier, increase connection, and cultivate more life satisfaction.Being an Afro-Caribbean woman, Azia understands the importance of finding a therapist who is multiculturally competent, therefore she validates and integrates the unique experiences of people of color in the therapeutic setting.
