Erica is a Licensed Master of Social Worker. She earned her graduate degree at Silberman School of Social Work at CUNY Hunter and her undergraduate degree at Sarah Lawrence College. She has several years experience working with children in foster care, who were experiencing trauma and crisis situations. Through the use of Trauma Systems Therapy, she helped these children explore more effective ways of communicating and dealing with the situations in their lives. She also has experience working with pregnant women and has a special interest in perinatal mood disorders. She strongly believes that in therapy both the client and therapist are learning from each other. In order to help form this special relationship she supports the dignity of the individual and the importance of a space where the client can feel held. She uses a person-centered approach, with a strengths based perspective, and motivational interviewing to help her clients build themselves up and reach their goals.
