Jeanee is a New York State Licensed Mental Health Counselor. She has experience in the field of counseling since 2012. She graduated with her Bachelor of Art in Psychology, Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling and Master of Public Administration from The College of New Rochelle. Jeanee primarily uses person centered therapy and cognitive behavior therapy (CBT) while pulling from, psychodynamic, narrative, solution focused and motivational interviewing modalities where appropriate, to create an experience unique to your individual needs. Using an eclectic style of therapy allows Jeanee to collaborate with those who endure learning disabilities, developmental disabilities, dual diagnosis, anxiety, mood disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder, trauma, addiction as well as grief and loss. Furthermore, she is experienced in assisting individuals with developing coping skills to aid with anger management, domestic violence as well as building self-awareness.
Jeanee has a diversified professional background to include assistant teacher to children with developmental disabilities, Behavior technician practicing applied behavior analysis with children who have autism as well as an outpatient substance abuse therapist. She has experience working with individual and groups spanning all ages, from different backgrounds and communities. She believes there are similarities in the hats we wear and the circumstances we face but we do not all fit the same mold. There is a commonality that we share and that is the goal of change.
