Maritza (she/her/ella) is a licensed bilingual psychotherapist. Maritza earned her degree in Mental Health Counseling from Brooklyn College, CUNY. She has worked in the mental health field since 2020 providing support and care for underrepresented communities. Additional training includes research, teaching, childhood and early development and acute crisis intervention. Maritza has experience working with individuals and families through a variety of issues including mood and personalities disorders, bereavement, cultural issues, interpersonal and relationship issues, as well as a variety of life transitions. As a psychotherapist, she strives to provide genuine, compassionate, and insightful support to be your soundboard and help clients reclaim their sense of agency. Maritza draws from an integrative approach that embodies CBT, psychodynamic, and person-centered psychotherapies to foster a safe and non-judgmental space. Maritza understands therapy is joint effort to build on clients’ raw skills as well as the development of new techniques to address the challenges they experience. Together, Maritza would like her clients to walk away from sessions feeling like the driver in their life.
