Megan is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. She completed her studies at Iona College with a Bachelors degree in psychology and a Masters degree from NYU in mental health and wellness counseling. Megan has work experience with psychotherapy and substance abuse counseling while utilizing such therapy modalities as Person-centered approach, motivational interviewing and cognitive behavioral therapy. Additional training, she has done includes group work, food addiction, trauma and art therapy. Megan has experience working with individuals, adolescents, families, couples and the LGBTQIA+ community. In doing so, she has provided counseling through a variety of issues including depression, anxiety, self-esteem, addiction, ADHD and a plethora of other transitional life challenges. As a therapist, Megan creates a safe space for any and all clients in order to provide compassionate, truthful, secure and empathetic support. She guides clients in their journey because once we begin to talk about our feelings they become less overwhelming, less upsetting and less scary. Megan understands that mental health is not a destination, but a process. She believes that no matter your past we are cable of removing its power from defining our futures.
