Kalissa (she/her/ella) is a Licensed Master Social Worker based in New York. She obtained her Master’s degree in social work from the Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College and her bachelor’s degree in human development with minors in Latin American Caribbean area studies and immigration studies from Binghamton University. Kalissa has experience in supporting children, adolescents, and adults through a diverse range of experiences, including mood and personality disorders, eating disorders, LGBTQIAP+ related matters, diasporic identity challenges, cultural concerns, navigating interpersonal relationships, and life
transitions. She is passionate about creating a non-judgmental and compassionate environment to support and assist you in cultivating experiences of joy and developing a healthier relationship with yourself and those around you. She approaches her work through a strengths-based, trauma-informed, and anti-oppressive lens with the utilization of Internal Family Systems and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy techniques. She strongly feels that supporting you through life’s peaks and valleys is an absolute honor and welcomes you to join a therapeutic space where you will be listened to, appreciated, and accepted.
