Nicolette is a limited permit mental health counselor MHC-LP . Nicolette obtained her bachelor’s degree in psychology with a minor in women’s and gender studies from the State University of New York at Oneonta. Following her undergraduate degree, Nicolette received her master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling from Marist College. She has experience providing services to adolescents, emerging young adults, and adults in individual therapy, family therapy, and group therapy. In her career, Nicolette has helped address a variety of mental health challenges with her clients including eating disorders, body image disturbances and self-esteem issues, anxiety, depression, trauma, adjustment issues, chemical dependency, co-occurring mental health diagnoses, severe mental health diagnoses, and crisis situations. She has worked in a variety of settings including residential treatment centers, college counseling centers, and outpatient clinics. Nicolette uses a person-centered approach when working with clients and incorporates various therapeutic modalities such as Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Psychodynamic Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy. Nicolette’s experience has provided her with valuable knowledge to best assist her client’s with their struggles. She strives to create a tailored therapeutic treatment experience to fit her client’s needs, and an empathetic environment that encourages growth and collaboration with her clients.
